Political Discussion / Re: Trump keep his campaign pledge!
« on: May 28, 2017, 07:27:56 AM »
The Republicans in Congress need to start acting like a majority and quit letting the minority push them (and Trump) around.

Even though there are things Congress must do, the President must still sign them into law.  Obama had veto power over the Republican majority, and there were not enough capable of overriding it.

So, even though Congress passes the laws, the President is the "stop-gap", and therefore gets credit for alowing good bills to become law and bad bills to become just another "outrage" on the news.
Well this fact that the GOP is only reacting to the minority and not acting.   Theirs to lose in 2018.

Gee whynow, I'm sorry I hurt your feelings.
Maybe you ought to add some playdo, coloring books and a puppy to your preps.

I was not "blabbering about my your current food preps, just making a point that you haven't really made any and where you would be when going with your current plan.
I'v'e been a "prepper" before the word prepper,  over 40 yrs.
I was trying to assist you.

And besides, who the fu@k buys ice as a prepping supply.

Good luck.

p.s.
If you only have 5K of .223 or 9mm, yes you do "need the extra ammo,"

I am pretty much prepared all the time.  I have a 10,000 gal water tank, ten 5 gal propane tanks, always have lots of toilet paper and paper towels, fifteen 18650 batteries and five flashlights that use them which on the lower settings will last 80 hours on one battery.  Two refrigerators and a chest freezer with lots of food.  Two generators, a Honda EU3000 and a loud one with 4800 watts which is strong enough to run the clothes dryer.  Two cast iron propane stoves, a backhoe in case I have to move heavy stuff, a chipper, 35 gals of gas and 50 gals of diesel all with fuel stabilizers.  Makita 18v flashlights, saws, drills and drivers and ten Makita 4 and 3 amp batteries.  A .22 rifle and pistol, an AR15, a Glock 9mm and over 18,000 rounds of ammo.  Lots of rope, parachute cord, zip ties up to 30 inches in length, rachet straps,  plywood, 2x4s and other assorted lumber, hundreds of deck screws from 1.25 to 3.5 inches,  dozens of carriage bolts from 1.5 to 4.5 inches, a roll of 25x100 ft of 6 mil plastic, duct tape and in the yard, lots of bamboo that could be used to build shelter.  They range from 1 to 3 inches in diameter and 25 ft long.  Six assorted chainsaws up to a Stihl MS880 with a 60 inch bar, and a Woodmizer lumber mill  Chickens that give me 10 to 15 eggs a day.  When you live in a remote section of Puna, you gotta be ready for worst case scenarios.
Well you got me beat on the water, chickens and chainsaws.  Only got 4 and largest is a 440.  Living in Puna, no wonder you got a lot of stuff.  Been prepping since 1999 and since my prior main hobby was shore casting with some slide bait, I got lots of camping gear/coolers.   Got white gas, propane, fluorescent, LED flashlights, lanterns.   Got the regular handtools and powertools for a homeowner, along with different sizes and thickness of tarps, fasteners,  Invested in a solar still with a rocket stove last year.
Good to see what others have staged without getting into some drama discussing it.

Sorry Dude, bad plan,
"If there is an actual watch alert I'll get" stuck with all the other "if there's" crowd, price gouging,  :grrr:
" if an actual warning" most of what you want will be gone after you fight the crowd of panic'd "if there's".  :shake: :wtf:

Buy the things you always use anyway as long as you can use them before expiration.
Listen, prices don't go down so whatever you buy now that you regularly use or eat  will be used at a later time when it probably will cost more.  :geekdanc:

This page is titled "Preparedness and Survival" not wait and see then see what I can do.  :P
"if there's"   "I'll get"  is not being prepared.
(Rockette just laughed and mentioned that this was the first time in years that she saw only one extra case of paper towels (But there are 5 cases TP  ;D)

After an alert or warning, you know that guy at the gas station waiting in line with all of his 5 gal cans, or the man in the store with 8 gallons of milk and a cart full of meat (even tho he has no freezer and even if he did he's not prepared for a power outage) ?

  I'm not that guy.
I'm in my front yard having a drink and shooting bow not giving a shit cuz it's alll already there.

  Why now whynow ?
cuz laterz too late.   :shake: :shake:

      :shaka:

Well, I tell you what dude, me saying I want to buy 2 cases of soup and some TP, without blabbering about my current food preps over the net, is like having 5K of .223 or 9mm and you want to buy another 100-200 rds.  Do I need the extra ammo, I no tink so.  But if the situation arises I will buy it unless there's panic traffic or lines.  If no can, I still don't lose.   Living a lifetime on this island, most of the canes or TS come in August or September, although Fico came in July and Iwa in November, so buying gas/storing/treating it now is something I will wait till July or unless I use up the 2 gal. earlier.
Waiting till the warning to buy bulk ice at a nearby Texaco is because ice in my coolers only last 5 days max.  and will be in a different form if that warning comes in August or September.  I don't own no freezer boxes.
But you have everything you need  now, well good for you.  You da bes'

You are an Islamaphobe!

Yes, I am an islamaphobe or muzzphobe against those muslims who behead men, women, children; bash infants against a wall; burn human beings alive or throw them off high buildings; perform honor killings of household members; blow up innocents, or other unspeakable acts against other human beings for pleasure or because they aren't muslim .   I am not a "phobe" against those muslims who don't believe in sharia or do the above mentioned evil.
Recently we had Pastor Wes Bently speak about his Far reaching Ministries and the work they're doing in South Sudan.  His story was riveting and make grown men weep, including horrific tales of  those murdered in the name of islam and the volunteer Sudanese chaplains killed in battle.

What have you bought or are planning to buy for the upcoming cane season?
I just got an Anker 21w solar charger for cell phones, tablets and a small 500 lumens LED lantern from Don Q.  The lantern using 3 D batts have a long run time in both modes, which is why I like low power lanterns for area lighting.   I also noticed Don Q selling couple Sangean brand SW portables but were not cheap.   I have a Sangean ATS-909 SW radio  bought for the coming Y2K extravaganza which fizzled out, but always good to have.
Soon I plan to buy 10 gal. of non-ethanol gas since I'm down to 2 gal. of my older stash.   If there is an actual watch alert I'll get a few cases soups, toilet paper (2 case)  from Costco and if an actual warning then buy bulk ice to fill coolers.  That's all that I can think of for now.

Manoa area would be the best place.  Moslem temple there and UH has thousands of young impressionable liberals to radicalize.
I can imagine 10K Syrian, Libyan, Somali, Salvadorans, Guatemalan single men, etc. being settled close to UH dorms, Noelani and St. Francis schools.   Manoa will be the rape capitol of HI.   You can expect our government to blame the victims and not the poor misguided, misunderstood refugee rapists.   The refugees will be a protected class, until the people have had enough and throw every RINO and liberal dem out of office along with their boot licking appointees like Chin.
Maybe home prices in Manoa will come tumbling down or you will see the rich building secured fortresses with personal armed guards like in So. Africa.

I remember an article saying Krauthammer was originally a liberal but later changed to conservative.
Wikipedia says he once worked for Mondale.

General Discussion / Re: Hanauma Bay parking at KHSC
« on: May 26, 2017, 09:07:42 PM »
I can see some blue city or foreign tourists with kids complaining about fearing the loud booms, gun shots or dangerous target arrows  while parking in the KHSC area.  Should put up signs saying parking for archery or shooting guests only once you go off Kalanianaole into the complex.   Violators will be towed.

Not a weapon in itself but carrying a flattened amount of duct tape has many uses in a bad situation.   Belts with removable metal buckles with an edge,  taped together on a belt can give you some reach.  Also like in WWZ, tape some inflight magazines around your arm to protect from slashing.   Maybe someone can think up adding some metal "decorations" on their tote bags detachable carrying strap that can also be used to reach out.

Just send them to Honolulu.  Ige and the Dumocrats will welcome them with open arms and understanding for the plight America has put them in.
Was going to say that.  Hope they move next to Chin's home so he and his family can really get acquainted with their culture.  Maybe he'll want to take the family to Mogadishu, Dafur or Abottabad  for the next vacation instead of dry a$$ places like Vancouver, Frisco or Boston.
Some people just got to learn the hard way.

For pouch size med kits, I got a ATS and a ESSTAC pouch from SKD.  The ATS is the pull away type on a battle belt setup.  I used to have the ESSTAC on a gunbelt for my 12 ga. or 1894C , but decided to streamline the belt and placed the blowout pouch on a possibles bag strap.  However the belt carries a TQ in a double taco pouch.  ATS has more stuff including for booboos, but generally has gauze pads, tape, TQ, Celox, compression bandages, shears.  The ATS only has compression bandages, Celox, gauze pads, tape.  Keep an extra TQ on the side pouch of the possibles bag.
My group kit is in a range bag bought from ebags.  Attached a front pouch to the outside for extreme blood loss situations and a side pouch for booboos to keep from having to rummage inside and disturb the items segregated in ziplock bags.  Also keep a Casio digital watch and a small light on the outside of the range bag kit.  Keep OTMs bought from Longs, Walgreens, Costco, Walmart in a plastic toolbox staged with the range bag kit.

if you're intent on a pepper spray for HD, consider pepper balls shot out of a paintball gun like a Tipmann TiPX or similar.  It will localize the OC to mainly the target instead of like a grenade.   Downside is the pepperballs are expensive.  SALT pepperballs are about $50 for box of 10 with a 5 yr. shelf life per the maker.   I bought a box of 500 paintballs to practice with instead of using  the pepper ball for practice.   If you buy the marker separately from the pepperballs it will be cheaper than the SALT kit.  Check Amazon.
From your post, your home has stairs.  To think out of the box, I would also consider a water gun or "tactical" spray bottle (kidding) filled with oil or soap to spray on the stairs if invaders approach.   Also consider making caltrops aka metal kid's jacks to throw on the stairs to slow down invaders.  Should be easy to cleanup afterwards.  Like a home alone scenario, get some old alley 15-16 lb. bowling balls to roll down the stairs at invaders, but might damage stuff.
Although I got the pepperballs mainly to use in the open garage from an intruder prior to me utilizing more lethal protection, I prefer a handgun, pump shotgun or lever rifle in pistol caliber for HD.

Yeah, I am done interacting with these trolls. They are not open minded enough for me to have a decent conversation with. And I noticed they are very narcissistic. And when these trolls feel they are more important than everyone else (and therefore their words are more important than everyone else's words ) a decent conversation is impossible.
Starve em out!

Because the same people believe that Hillary Clinton is not guilty of felonious acts for mishandling classified information and not guilty of public corruption in coercing other state heads to donate to the Clinton Foundation while being the U.S. SOS.

If anyone is interested in Hiviz sights, they are on sale at Optics Planet right now.  Most are in the 40-50% range.  The shipping is pricey, but still comes out cheaper than any place else that I've found.
What's your experience with Optics Planet?   Do they ship fast and reasonable to HI?   Few years back I tried to order a red dot from them that said in stock, but then they told me it had to be back ordered after I paid.   I never tried to order from them again.
