Thanks guys. The customer service line wasn't too helpful, they just read what I already had on the website. However I did email too just in case. Seems this should be good to go based on drck1000s post too. Garand and glock in one case.

Hey all,
For those of you with recent experiences flying with Hawaiian Airlines I had a question.
Is it okay to put more than one firearm into the same case, specifically a rifle and pistol? Hawaiian's website makes no mention of it, but I can't seem to find a definitive answer yet. It seems some other airlines require 1 case per gun...which is silly imo.

Off Topic / Antique Glass Floats

Wondering if anyone could give me a bit more info on a glass float ball I've had for years. My understanding is that they were used before plastic ones became the norm due to cost and weight I'm guessing.
I have a green one that is 35" in circumference with a little less than a quarter of water in it. There's no markings on it as well.
Was hoping to get some info on how how common these are a the value of them.

Pros
Very clear glass
Huge field or view at 100 yards
Very durable
Very light compared to variable scopes
The chevron and accs reticles are pretty good
Cons
Bad eye relief. The eye relief is around 1 inch meaning you have to have your stock collapsed or remove your rear sight to get proper positioning
Fixed 4x power. Slower than a red dot within 75 yards. Can't increase power if you needed too.
The fiber optic is usually too bright requiring you to cover it and adjust with electrical tape.

If they ever outlawed cars that means they could technically reprocess every car in america without paying one dime?

Basically that means the government cannot seize private property without compensating the owner the value of the property.

Also keep in mind that all murder is not committed with firearms. Cases of violent crime is a better example, but again keeping in mind all violent crime doesn't involve a firearm. Other countries have a higher violent crime rate compared to the USA, but heavily restrict or do not allow firearms. People will say that the USA has the the highest gun muders, crime etc. in the world and that other countries don't have a high gun crime rate. Well again, other countries heavily restrict or dont allow guns so the gun crime rate would obviously be lower. However these other countries still have a higher rate of violent crime, not just limited to firearms (assault, robbery, etc.)

In other words, if a gun was manufactured as or is registered with the NFA as a full ato etc., it can never be converted to semi-auto.
This is why you don't see surplus full auto M16a1 and M14 available, yet you can obtain a surplus 1911, Garand, 1903 etc.

"As an option, applicants may have their processed permits mailed to them. Applicants need to provide a self-addressed pre-paid envelope, certified restricted-delivery return receipt required(available at the U.S. Post Office) at time of application for permit."
The first part is obvious, basically just give them an envelope with your address on it. What does the second part mean? I gotta go to the post office and they do something before I go and apply?

« on: April 02, 2015, 05:07:27 PM »Total time to register my rifle today: 23 mins from the time I got in the elevator from the basement parking garage. There were four metered stalls open in mid-afternoon. Only couple guys were ahead of me in line. Big difference from early 2013.

There's some sort of steel in the jacket. The core is lead. That cheap xm80 7.62x51 federal sells has a bi metal jacket too, as well as almost all 7.62x39. So a magnet test doesn't necessarily mean it has a steel core. Could be just a steel core, or bi metal jacket. Sometimes both.

They specify in their shipping info or on the product page on different sites. Some say no standard cap mags, while others just say no handgun mags over 10 rounds, so rifle mags are fine. It just depends on the company. There are quite a bit that do, just some good ones don't.
