Let's get some more signatures on this petition!

http://hawaiirifleassociation.org/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=96:get-involved&catid=1:articles&Itemid=50

"We have started a petition asking the City Council to allow registration of firearms at all Honolulu Police stations. Currently you can only register your firearms at the Beretania Street station and this makes it very difficult for some who live outside Honolulu. In addition, the increase in firearms sales has created long lines that sometimes stretch outside the outer doors of the firearms branch office. HPD is even closing the doors at 3 PM to complete the registration process by 4:30 PM when the office closes.

In addition to allowing registrations at all police stations, we are asking for extended hours for those that cannot easily take off work several times during the week to register their firearms."

Please sign and pass the word along!

Where they pulling people who were picking up permits out?

I was there at 2:00 PM and they asked if anyone was just picking up around 3:00 PM just before locking the exterior door.

I was unable to register my firearm and will have to go back tomorrow.  I am now overdue on my registration date (HPD website says 5 calendar days so the holiday weekend just added to my stress).  I was unable to make it past the exterior doors but decided to try my luck and wait outside till 4:30 PM , you know, their actual closing time.  They were able to make it through the rest of the customers that made it inside the two rooms.  Myself and another person were waiting patiently to see if they would let us in since there was no one else in line, but they locked up the doors at 4:13 PM.

I'm currently debating what time I should go by HPD tomorrow to register my firearm.
