Damn... People really don't care now days.... Sad I haven't watched it yet but sounds like way too little people in the theater for a movie of that caliber that could make controversy, I'm not surprised that they didn't show the administrative side of things though..

Watch his full documentary, he explained why he left knowing what's at stake and risking his life to let the truth out, he did it on moral ground, he couldn't lie to himself anymore with the direction the Soviet Union was going, he grew up as a "political upper class" that benefited from socialism, he is former kgb, he questioned himself why he should do what he did when he had such a great life living comfortably and deceiving other foreigners in politics that hold power, the documentary has a bunch of pictures of him with explanations of what his biography was. He escaped by hiding among the socialist left college hippies smoking pot all day, the kgb was terrifying in their plans

General Discussion / Re: The Psychology of Gun Ownership
« on: January 18, 2016, 06:36:42 PM »
Lol I don't even fit in any of the stereotypes I'm like 22yrs old, slender Asian, very libertarian in my views, libertarians and conservatives always do agree way more than disagree though, anti gunners hate seeing gun owners that break the typical stereotypes from their propaganda portrayal of an old fat middle age Christian man toting his gun and the bible. The progressive left always want to seem not racist yet they are the ones always bringing race into the issues that have nothing to do with anything to discredit the opposition, not all gun owners are conservatives, I'm losing faith in my generation...

hanwei is great for battodo tameshigiri(test cutting tatami mats) as well, in terms of class up, aside from custom koshirae fittings, it would just be aesthetics and build mainly for iai practice, a solid build is always solid, even modern crafted steel is better than the steel they used back then in japan, even though fittings arent that great, at the price of some hanweis or even thaitsukis and kaneie i feel like itd be better to custom one from the ground up, currently the best value blade you can get imho would be a ronin elite, in the same price range with other higher end modern forged katanas, everything is handbuilt, they use a famous shoshu kitae (7-panel layer fold) lamination technique created by the famous masamune, i wanted another blade built to these specs with a so-hi(double fuller) and shinogi-zukuri (curve), chu-kissaki (tip), most blades out there use a simple hon-sanmai fold or just single steel thats folded and differentally hardened, cold steel is good for non practitioners though

I have plans down the line specifically traditional katana, for iaido, been wanting a nice shinken with a traditional white hamon polish, i was either gonna change my current blade polish but since it was possibly pricey, i was also debating on whether to go that route or just buy a new shinken, been searching around online its super hard to import a nihonto so i might try to find a custom one with a juka-choji or midare/gumone-choji type hamon with nie in it, doesnt have to be tamahagane or anything as long as its durable and has the end result im searching for, just like custom 1911s, i seen a picture of a shinken with a hamon(temper pattern) that resembles fire, im just searching around till i find the right one, i have specs if anyone can build the blade with the choji hamon or give me a rough estimate on cost, if you know any smiths send me a link

XD haha Wish it was that easy  but yeah im currently working on that but i have to put more info together and possibly how the optic would work, theres a couple ways i could go about it but i was thinking of using a grid like system or a programmed BDC thats invisible to the eye so it keeps it simple and not busy as well as stays centered on the optic and has no parallax either, another problem i have right now would be to have everything fit into a compact size, im writing down all the notes i can for it so far, plus i will need detail drawings and stuff for a patent, even if its just an idea

hey guys, its been a year since i thought of this concept, while i did more research, in the meantime, i need to figure out its feasibility and if there would be a market that it would exceed with like mil/le or 3gun, need some experienced shooters feedback, can you guys list all the drawbacks as well as practicalities of my auto zero dot concept. thanks :) and i need to figure out if its possible in time to fit everything as compact and eotech or elcan specter dr size housing with all i mentioned previously, it would help if someone with an engineering/coding experience can tell me if its possible in the next couple years, anyone that 3 guns could you tell me if this would work well in run&gun? or tactical applications, still on the swot analysis

I just found out about it recently and was doing some research on this just now, apparently its suppose to be a psy op to get people use to seeing militarization and martial law, for most part how you see police and what not people are starting to accept it as a norm. I don't lean to any particular side, as i find it hard to believe that our own troops would be used against us, at the same time nothings impossible, there's videos of blackhawks and apaches flying over houses in Texas and what not, they labeled Texas as a hostile area (conspiracy is that cause its pro gun with alot of gun owners) they're dropping special operations out of helis and practicing night raids or snatch and grabs. some sound really far fetch seeing as I don't believe any special forces would turn their guns on the very people they swore to protect, but i'll keep in open mind, alot of fear mongering... one thing for sure though is we are losing our freedoms for the sake of "security"

what? but the 2 week waiting period is to "cool off"' right?  ??? cause obviously this works cause gun control, how can anyone even be mad? lol this just proves that the cool off period doesn't work, just cause your angry doesn't mean you want to kill right away

first focal plane scopes are better imo, as you adjust the magnification the recticle will as well, thats less to worry about then having to redo your calculations when using second focal plane where your variable magnification changes but your mil dots or cross hairs etc.. doesn't change so you gotta do some calculations, this is more for long range precision though

infrared lasers exist, its common use in the mil/le they have peq boxes like peq 15s, dbal i2, etc.. they are the boxes you see mounted, that has a visible and ir mode for lasers and weapon lights, its hella cool when only you can see it and the enemy doesn't.

i was thinking the chronicles of riddick as well haha, but it looks like the process may be temporary, but it could work for special forces depending how long it takes to kick in or how long it lasts, i'm guessing there would be no shut off feature on it though, the black liquid gets absorbed into the eyes so it doesn't stay like that, if it does even more badass, imagine being an enemy guard on night patrol and that's the last thing you see, a commando with eyes like that and you know death is coming. another benefit is less equipment to carry and you don't need heavy nvgs on your rifle and helmet, i'm just wondering how well they work with lasers, or if a light is shine at you, lol i wonder if its compatible with the nvg settings on my T1 and eotech

science rocks! recently they had a successful attempt at creating night vision without using any goggles, or pvs 14s. i imagine this could have potential with our soldiers, since we do have a talo iron man project, this would be really cool as well

here's the link to the read: http://www.iflscience.com/health-and-medicine/biohacker-had-night-vision-injected-his-eyeballs

Strategies and Tactics / Re: force on force training/simunition
« on: March 24, 2015, 08:00:23 PM »
yup, i joined HGBBC a while ago but never have time to play, plus its far from where i live, i only use gas blowbacks, i actually use to work as a tech at kapolei airsoft for a short time... im a gbb person though, my LM4/m4a1 set up like how my real rifle is and pistols and plate carriers etc... airsoft changed alot from 2001, not that i would know but now its getting super advance and the realism is improving, but no matter how much you don't have that risk factor or simulation, even with milsim theres rambos charging in rooms, without any consequence besides being shot with bbs, they just respawn and game on.. i wanted to learn more urban tactics as well as jungle sounds good seeing as were on an island, I actually wanted a version of airsoft with simunition to be a real sport that combined best of both worlds and teams from all countries compete, using tactics and simunition, that sounds hella fun and it hurts pretty bad too getting hit, so theres some intensity to it, just imagine a big arena or somewhere similar to where milsim events are held, or smaller like a maze

well I did that already, not into paintball cause the lack of realism, Airsoft was fun using tactics and being able to know what works and what doesn't with the way your load out is set up and how to set up your weapons, but I need some real simulation based on real world possibilities, I do miss playing airsoft though but yeah, its not just tactics by itself, I need to understand shoot, no shoot scenarios, and be able to work under heavy stress, its not the same stress as bbs flying over your head, unless its milsim, :D that's hella fun but still its more of a sport than something i'm able to apply to everyday life besides the tactics, I think airsoft is a really viable training tool especially weapon manipulations and tactics.

Strategies and Tactics / Re: what to do if a grenade is thrown at you
« on: March 22, 2015, 03:41:01 PM »
lol i don't think any amount of preparation will prepare you for shrapnel flying, is it possible to get out of the blast radius in time? how fast would you have to run within the time before it detonates? i know the fuses are short and it takes time to even identify a grenade, but just curious as it doesn't hurt to know and may benefit if anything, hopefully there's always some cover around, i wonder if those riot shields are effective against it too
