General Discussion / Moving to the Big Island...
« on: July 10, 2014, 08:48:49 AM »
Hi all! Just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Ron, I'll be moving to the Big Island on July 28th.
I do field service with cash handling systems so will be driving all over the island between Hilo and Kona.
I'm in my mid 40's, been shooting most of my life, been reloading for the past 15-16 years with equipment
from Lee to Dillon.
I'm very interested in getting back to reloading once I'm setup on the Island. I've been reading that powder is in very short
supply. Before dropping cash on a new reloading press, just how bad is the powder situation? I'm looking to reload .40 S&W,
30.06, .223, .257 Ackley, and hopefully .45ACP.
Any recommendations on gun shops on the Big Island? Ranges/clubs?
Really looking forward to getting to know some of you and getting back to shooting... aside from the ridiculous laws in HI, it's a gorgeous place for outdoor sports!
