ok so I was looking on gunbroker for a 300 blackout upper and ran into and offer (see below) my question is how come a Stainless Steel Pistol Gas System  on a long barrel?  my understanding is that its better to have the pressure from the propellant pushing the projectile as long as possible before returning to the BCG to cycle.  I guys what I am asking is what is the rational for having a pistol gas system on a long barrel?

My apologies to everyone trying to help me especially Olfart, when I originally posted I got a speedy P.M> from K30l4 offering to come over and help me out.  But I had a lot of family matters for a few weeks pop up and I wasn't able to get online .  again sorry.  suffice to say K3014 and I hooked up and within about 3 hours we had my press rolling out 9mm 115 gr jacketed rounds.  I am going to take them out and test fire to see results and then start rolling out ammo.  This forum is a AWSOME place to meet people and to get help when you really need it.  I now have a new friend that lives close by and has similar hobbies as I do.

I wanted to get some feedback on a train of thought I had.  So please no redundant posts telling me "ARE YOU FOR REAL" or "YOU HAVE GOT TO BE JOKING"   I am just hypothetically running this by others that have a higher level of legal knowledge.

I have heard that there is a federal law that states an individual can assemble a firearm from manufactured parts that do not have REG numbers affixed to them yet because they parts are partially unfinished. If the intention of the person building it is to be the sole owner and never transfers, sells, or gives away the firearm. Is this true?

If so here is my theory:  Could an individual purchase partially finished (millied) lower receiver that does not have REG numbers or any company logos on them yet as they are unfinished.   Then if you have the tools and you have the capability of completing the machining of the lower.

Do you then have to register it with the state?  if yes how does one render REG numbers
Does Hawaii state law cover this?

again not looking for stupid 2bit comments, just wanted some solid input

I have a Hornady LNL AP progressive 5 stage press mostly set up but am having trouble with the bullet feed die and the tamper crimp dies.  looking for someone that could come over and help me set it up and tweak the dies.  am willing to pay with beer and food and good conversation.

Ok seen all kinds of information out there but nothing on this.  I have a pair of nondescript shooting gloves that I like but I am wondering what others out there like to wear for shooting. and what you spent on them

yes this was a good example of the Hollywood people casting a big name actor and then not even following the book.  this is why I am so glad they haven't gotten their money grubbing hands on the AWSOME 2 book series "Day By Day Armageddon" by J.L. Borne  great read and would make a great movie   if you haven't read it you should

« on: June 15, 2015, 02:02:01 PM »
I am new to the reloading scene but I have to say the only good way to make you brass look new and sparkling is to use a wet tumbler with the stainless steel stick media I do about 250  9mm rds in 2hrs I use 2 simple and readily available.

1) Maguire's automotive pro wash soap  1teaspoon
2) Lemi Shine Dishwasher Detergent and Rinse Aid 1 teaspoon

cover casings with water and let tumble  for 2.5 hrs and bingo shinny new looking
