First Annual National Take Your Daughter to the Range Day
« on: April 09, 2012, 10:54:17 AM »
Royal Hawaiian Shooting Club will be hosting the First Annual National Take Your Daughter to the Range Day on Saturday, June 9th, from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm. Although this is a family event and all are welcome, focus will be given to girls between the age of six and 18 (height restriction of 140cm for safety). The young women may participate in give-aways, promotional items, and most importantly, an opportunity to learn to shoot in a fun and safe environment. They will be able to try their hand at shooting a pistol and a rifle; all at a minimum cost of $20. Our instructors are NRA Certified Pistol Instructors with many years of firearms experience for everyone’s’ safety.

Most recent reports say the U.S. now boasts well over 15-20 million female gun owners, which is greater than the active military force of 30 countries, combined. National Take Your Daughter to the Range Day, founded by Lynne Finch, Virginia, is a perfect way to reach out to young women and help bring them into this currently male-dominated sport. One of Hawaii’s own, Chelsie Hata, was recently named NCAA All American 2nd Team Air Rifle.

Royal Hawaiian Shooting Club, located at 2201 Kalakaua Ave. Suite 404 in Honolulu, is proud to participate in this national event. We kindly ask that you PRE-REGISTER for this event.

This event is promoted by National Take Your Daughter to the Range Day, Inc. Please visit our website for additional information on the national event, sponsors, etc. www.NationalTakeYourDaughterToTheRangeDay.com

I don't have a daughter (or kids, for that matter), but I just want to say thanks for running something like this.

As you may notice on the registration form there are 4 time spots. So it is not based on the number of rounds per individual but rather an hour which includes: Introduction and Briefing with NRA Instructor, Range Time (.22 caliber handgun and rifle). Everyone is welcome to join and you can add larger calibers for your children (parent and instructors approval).  Royal Hawaiian Shooting Club is proud to be apart of this national event to educate youth shooters. Hawaii's FNRA and some of the youth shooters will be present to answer any questions and inform those attending about youth shooting programs. We are hoping all the children and parents make it to the HRA Shooting Fair June 16-17 as well. This will allow the children an indoor and outdoor shooting experience with some of the most qualified individuals on the island.
