Furlough and gun registration?
« on: October 01, 2013, 07:04:23 AM »
Was just reading about the furlough at the shipyard on Hawaii news now and in the last sentence they brought up gun registration for some reason. I don't really see how they are related. Can anyone make sense of it?

There's another thread just like this on here. Ncis system will still be active, and unless hpd getting a furlough, don't know why they would, they should still be open.

Try giving them a call and see what they say.

Just talked to a very nice lady in the Firearms section. HPD is NOT being affected by the Federal shutdown. Registrations will continue.

I wonder why they include stuff like that in the article. It's totally unrelated and completely false. Just pushing more of the anti gun agenda I suppose.

is that possibly because of the required FBI background check on permits to acquire long guns and handgun registration?  That is the only thing associated with the federal government I can think of.

NRA-ILA stated the NICS background checks will not be impacted by the shutdown.  This service is considered essential:  National Saftety/Security/Law Enforcement-related.
