I'm looking for anyone that wants to sell or knows where to buy black powder. I have been shooting my 76 caliber brown bess and 50 caliber flintlock with Pyrodex. Needless to say it does not work very well. Anyone have any information on this topic?

Make your own.  I believe its just sulfur, potassium nitrate, and charcoal? I was looking into making my own and it seemed pretty easy and I believe the sulfur and potassium nitrate can be found at a garden center or lowes. I think certain stump removers are potassium nitrate and certain bug dusts are sulfur. I may be wrong, but when I was looking into it, it seemed fairly straight forward. Try it and let me know how it works.

Haha I didn't say it was safe, the trick is small batches, less of a poof.

One of our members brings it in through a freight forwarder contact he has. And we buy it from him. Unfortunately, he has been quite sick lately including just having surgery recently. So I know he does not have much currently and has not shown up shooting with us for quite a while now. I believe if he stops bringing BP in for us that one of the other members will step up. But at this time I believe most of the members has a decent supply of BP. I think the best thing to do is to come shoot with us on Sunday mornings and get to know everyone. If someone has any extra they want to sell they will let you know. If not someone should be able to let you know when we are due to bring in some more.

Problem is I'm on Maui...Unless anyone is going trolling in the near future and wants to do a drop off. I'm to the point that ill pay 75 a pound.
