Trail cam placement advice.

Hello folks,

I am in need of some advice. I am attempting to hook up a game camera outside of my apartment to cover my parking stall. I am trying to keep it from getting stolen (long story short my motorcycle was stolen, replaced by insurance, new one chained to the earth, thief bastards keep coming back to look at the chain at 4am, I want to get a good photograph of them). Hopefully with approval from my landlord, I want to mount the camera up high and use a pivot mount to have it look down while having it attached with a cable and lock. I know this is not thief proof but I was going to hide some magnetic window/door sirens inside so if they do remove it blam, sirens will go off, also I was thinking about putting a wifi SD card in the game camera so just in case they do happen to steal my camera from up high with all the alarms, it will upload the photos wirelessly to my network capturing their faces. Also my game camera and lock box is tree camo, the wall where I want to mount it is sky blue lol. Should I get sky blue paint and change the color of my trial cam to kind of blend in? Thank you so much for your advice folks!!!!

Consider getting a high resolution IP camera that also has IR for night vision.  If you have a broadband connection, it can send you alerts whenever its triggered.  The downside it that these cameras can be be difficult to configure.

Don't know your 20 but if you have a window facing the bike, mount camera in your house and then check to see if it will "pick up" .
If not able to do the above, check with your neighbor who's window shows the area.
Everybody wants security.

At night its hard to spot the cam.
I broad daylight cams are easy to id regardless of paint.

A couple of tips, if you are trying to get someone at night with it do not put it inside a window, at least without first testing it. The reflection from the glass would likely just reflect the Infared light flash right back at the camera.

Also, maybe consider something like painting it gray such as an electrical or cable box. You could even get sneaky and mount it inside something like a trash can that nobody would really want to look into and would not seem at all out of place just sitting there by your bike.
