Im confused as to why a sheriffs deputy just gets handed a full auto 416 on request.

What jumps out at me is the Sheriff has the authority to approve select fire rifle purchases for deputies!  This is in Dayton, OH. 

Is that a power all Sheriffs have?  If so, I want to apply at the Sheriff's office!!   :geekdanc:
