Self defense on a budget

If you had to buy the best self defense pistol you could find for $300 or less, which one would you pick?

I have a friend looking for a "good" self/home defense pistol and he has a self imposed $300 budget.

I don't think you'll find a glock under $300. You may be able to find a ruger p series for that price. They are good and reliable, just big bricks.

http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=233551995  Should end at less than 300, no reserve on it.

Yeah. Looks like an old police gun. I am not fond of Charter arms, but they do go bang. :P

I bought a used Ruger GP100 chambered for .357 magnum on gunbroker a couple years back for $275.

Used Glock.

I tried to find one for $300 but if you offer someone $300 on a used Glock you hurt their little feelings.

If I found a deal like that, I'd snap it up in a heartbeat. Not so much with the Charter arms one though.

You never know man.  Sometimes guys will just drop the price to get rid of stuff. It is unfortunately why I got a bit into the impulse buying.......sometimes you just gotta buy stuff because of the deal you see.

I agree GZ,

I'm always looking for good deals.

Whenever I find a great deal I pick it up.

If you know anyone that wants to sell guns cheap I'm there.
