New bills to become law in 24 hour if Gov does not VETO


These bills are:
 Assembly Bill 1014: Creates “Gun Violence Restraining Orders” and “firearm seizure warrants” that allow any person to file a restraining order against YOU causing your firearms to be forfeited.

 Senate Bill 808:  Bans individual home firearm manufacturing or 3-D printing and the sale, transfer, and inheritance of home-built firearms.

 Assembly Bill 1609: Makes it a state crime to transport or otherwise import firearms into California that were acquired from out of state, unless the firearms are sent to and transferred through a licensed California gun dealer.

 Senate Bill 199: Redefines both BB guns and imitation firearms and removes the BB device exception from the imitation firearm prohibition.

Wow.....California is really messed up.

Bill 808 is a scary one.

I could see them attacking home gunsmiths and people who build their own uppers at home.  They will raid then confiscate then getting your stuff back is going to be a bitch.

So, based on this bill, police can take your guns if a relative decides to turn you in saying you threatened to:

Run them over with a car,
Hit them with a baseball bat,
stab them with a knife,
murder them with an axe,
poison them,
shoot them with a crossbow,
get in their face and scream insults for 10 minutes.

Basically, they won't confiscate the car, bat, axe, crossbow, or knife.  They will only come after your guns ... and with no corroboration other than one relative filed a report.

Land of the free ...... right!

 Regardless of, and without thought towards, whether or not the "something" that they are doing is right, or will have an effect on the problem at hand.

These laws are specifically targeted at those that the government considers malcontents and undesirables, law abiding legal gun owners. They will have no effect on either crime or criminals, other than to create a new class of them.

These people are shameless in their promotion of fascism. I'm ashamed to admit that I'm from this state originally, yet very relieved that I escaped.

It often gives me and my Calif native wife pause to consider what has happened. 

Some day a good, unbiased (hah!) sociologist should write a book on the state from the 1950 Pat Brown era, through Reagan and Deukemajian.  Ending up with the Moonbeam relapse would just be icing on the moldy, rotten cake.

If it hasn't already been done, I'm willing to bet that a lawsuit will be filed in the next 30 days.

AB 1014 (Skinner), AB 1609 (Alejo), and SB 199 (de León) were signed into law.

So question for the legally astute;

Would or COULD AB 1609 apply to someone visiting California with a firearm for a short amount of time( 2 weeks) ?

The old law states visitors can have firearms if in the state less than 60 days and follow all applicable CA laws( mag capacity, transportation in locked container, etc.)

I think a short visit from a out of state resident with a legal firearm would be ok, but it is CA and a new law.....gotta have some advice for this soon.
