In this poor guy's case, damn near an hour away.  Interesting the media avoided (or deliberately spiked) any suggestion the homeowner try to protect himself in the future.

The asswipe liberals all say a cellphone and 911 are all anyone needs.  Any more and you are some sort of racist vigilante.

I really don't understand how anyone can have the illusion that the police are for protection.

I know they do what they can and are a critical part of a safe society over all... but personal protection simply isn't something they can do.

I also don't understand why HPD is so adamant that it IS part of their job description. Almost like the see firearms and use of force as their union protected job security. "Hey! Don't life a FINGER to protect yourself, buddy: that's MY job!"

I have to say they were quick getting to my house but I was quicker in drawing my bedside Glock 21 and ridding myself of the intruder in my home. They got there within 5 mins. of me calling once the family was all safe.

To bad our Chief isn't like this Sheriff! Our political system here is broken! Like the video says Political leaders seem to think they know better then our "Founding Fathers" that they can pick and choose which part of the Constitution should apply to them and which part should apply to us? We are all American Citizens! The Constitution of the United States and the Bill of Rights are the laws of the land!
No one should be allowed to change it!

Not that I disagree that we should have CCW, but one would not have been needed in this case as the occupant could have had a legal firearm in his home (assuming he wasn't a prohibited person)
