Same thing happened to me after moving  here. Took everything down to HPD and walked out with my guns and registration. (easy)
When I went to purchase a pistol, the two week wait period and  hunters ed/pistol safety course was explained....
Doesn't make much sense to take a safety course when a person already has registered firearms.

Not sure what is up with me and permits and/or registering a firearm.  I stopped by MPD and applied for a handgun permit.  Noticed a new paper attached to the medical waiver, it was something to the effect of the feds doesn't approve the medicinal use of marijuana.  I don't rock the green grass, so I didn't hesitate to whip my initials or signature(forgot, as I was in a rush to pick up my kid from school).  Anyone else noticed this and know when this medicinal marijuana paper started?  Any of the other counties have this as well?

I still see a few signs from the original post up.

I've signed that for at least 2 years in Honolulu.  I think that's been the law since around 2011, ever since more states started legalizing medical marijuana in opposition to federal law.

Wow, that's strange. The lady at the counter also mentioned it was a new form as well and explained.  I don't remember that piece of paper the last time I applied for another gun permit around last October.
