KAILUA, OAHU (HawaiiNewsNow) -

Following a stabbing inside his Enchanted Lake home, an off-duty Honolulu firefighter has been attacked for the second time in less than a week.

Honolulu police say 38-year-old Christopher Takayama got into a struggle with a man who attacked and injured him with an unknown weapon.

It is unknown how severe Takayama's injuries are.

On Tuesday, Takayama told police he found a burglar in his home and was stabbed in the stomach.

Police did search the neighborhood following that incident but found no suspects.

I realize the Cops think that way, but when it's obvious there is an "extraordinary threat" to your safety, isn't that the very standard against which the police chief weighs the need?

Of course, logically, if you can have a gun in your home for protection, you should also be allowed to have it in public, as you do not get to decide when and where an attack will happen.  But in this specific case, he's obviously able to show he's either being targeted, or is really unlucky.  Either way, it appears he can demonstrate he has a reason to ve paranoid!

call 911 = Hawaii's CCW answer. then wait. video the whole incident so the suspects can get caught, released back into the population through work furlough or HOPE. Then repeat process. Keeps people busy and meaning in life.
