Open Carry & Fender bender today
« on: June 27, 2015, 10:03:57 AM »
type on phone-

I normally always open carry nowdays.
At Lowes parking lot, big  Chevy truck next to me taking up 2 stalls. I pull up parked square in the middle of what's left of the stall.
I hear the guy screaming "Fs" and "Ss". I ignore him and walk away. Gentleman gets  out and continues to scream. I walk back to keep an eye out if he'll key my car. He gets back in his car climbing back in from the passenger side.

Guy backs up, both rear view mirrors collide.
At the same time said, " your lucky I don't come out there and bash your head in"!

Anyways cops show up,

It's easier to remain calm when you know you won't be at a disadvantage if someone comes at you.

I've seen online comments that, when you carry a firearm, you are a different person.  You're more mature, less reactionary, and less likely to be out of control from road rage and insults.  If someone is being a d!ck, you're more likely to take the high road and walk away.

The first time I open carried, I could feel the difference.  More alert and feeling more secure even in seemingly-not-so-safe areas.

So .... how did your story end?  Hopefully you got a picture of the driver and the license plate if he left before the Cops came.

Officers disarms me and runs checks on my CCW and gun.
While this is going on, a call on the radio comes. Obviously , the gentleman had called 911 complaining I pulled a gun on him. All the cops chuckle, " I guess he called you in too."

Responding officer returns my ID and gun, "I'll go talk to him and issue a citation for disorderly conduct. , are you willing to testify as a witness against him."

I hope Lowe's has parking lot security cameras ...

I said I would no longer post, but How do you get away with open carry?
I will actually register a single gun, no more than that,  if I can open carry.

I re-read HRS 134.  You have more freedom in Russia, than here.
Suka is probably in Washington state( my adopted home).
Can't be Hawaii, unless the only cops he deals with
are Uncle. >:D

I would probably park in another stall even if I was carrying a gun

I have too much to lose to get into a possible confrontation over just a parking stall

Would you have done the same if you had no gun?

If he really wanted to key your car, he would have just waited till you went inside

Some people don't care if someone is carrying

(Open carrying could also make you a target)

Just playing devils advocate

Glad it turned out okay

I would've, but it's well documented that I'm a dick like that.   :D

I've done it but only because it was the only stall left.   Nothing malicious.
(They parked on or really close to the line)

Luckily no ones keyed my pos car or tried to punt my okole.   They probably felt pity after looking at my pos car.

If I'm forced to park in a stall that's cramped by another car, I take pics on the phone of the parking job they did, any existing damages on my side, and their license plate.  If I come out and see any damage, I know what to give the Cops and Insurance comapny.
