Metal target alignment? (Read 6557 times)

Metal target alignment?

Do any of your metal targets dip downward? Will it become a problem with any deflection angles?
 I know it's because of how I mounted it with the chains behind it...

What you have is good.  The downward angle will help deflect rounds toward the ground, which is the best direction!

That's what I thought when I saw the pic.
What could he use to shield the wood?
How about those frame connectors that just pound into the wood?

What I've found is, it the chains are attached to the front of the frame, the splatter stays away from the wooden legs. 

Add a cross piece to the front of the vertical legs, and then attach the chains to the front of that cross piece.  That pushes the steel target out in front of the legs by another inch or two.

If you attach the chains to the backside of the legs, the wooden vertical legs barely last one day on the rifle range.

Thanks, I considered this before building the frame but I remember seeing something about keeping the metal target in front of the posts because the angle of the shrapnel will be around 20degrees or something. But basically if it's in front of the post then it's pretty safe. But I'll find out this weekend. I just wanted to make sure that the angle at which it's currently hanging at is okay.

I'll take side pic of my frame.

According to my angle finder it's hanging about 10 degrees maybe 12 plus the holes in the ground at koko head are kinda loose so I can just wedge something behind it leans forward even more. Might not be necessary but it probably won't hurt.

That reminds me, I need to shave down the corners a bit.

The perspective on the first picture made it appear like it was hanging between the legs.
