"Knife Rights" win in California Supreme Court

It's amazing to me that these issues have to be litigated at all, much less that they take years to resolve. Here's 14 pages from the California Supreme Court declaring that a Swiss Army knife, in the open position, is not "locked" and thus not a "dirk or dagger". California's (likely) next U.S. Senator, current California Attorney General Kamala Harris (also of Peruta/Richards, etc. fame) argued, essentially, that ANY knife (including all folding knives) is a "locking" knife, and therefore the legislature was stupid when they made a distinction in the law between "locking" knives and "non-locking" knives, as there are no "non-locking" knives. The California Supreme Court disagreed with her. Enjoy your Swiss Army knife! Even if a blade is open and in your pocket you are now no longer a criminal in California. :wtf:

Here is a background article from a year ago regarding the case.
