I'd like to see the poll add the question (for the  "60 percent [who] said they support a nationwide ban on the sale of assault weapons"): Please define "assault weapon" and explain how those features that characterize an "assault weapon" differentiate it functionally from "non-assault weapons" not having those particular features.

I mean, I'm sure all those favoring a ban know exactly what it is they are and aren't banning, right? ("Shoulder thing that goes up...).  :wtf:

And that's why you never see any polls that reveal the level of (lack of) knowledge of the respondents. But no one needs "knowledge" to respond to a poll... or vote.

Polls show that if you ask a leading question you can determine the awnser.

Do you support an assault weapons ban? Or
Do you think we should ban assault weapons to stop children being killed ?

Polls posted on NBC/MSNBC websites have more regular visitors with a certain party or ideological identity  compared to, say, FOXNews.

The correct headline should be most Americans that they polled favor more gun control.   We should start a poll showing most Hawaii residents (our members) favor no gun bans or gun control and submit it to the SA.
