The participants of this dog and pony show should have come here by sail boat or gliders instead of jetting in and ruining the environment.   Also get rid of the big armored suvs since the O proclaimed the world is a safer place.    If no motorcade, no traffic shutdown.
Show us peons by leading by example instead of only talking kukae.

They should just roll around in a civic with a coffee can on the tail pipe.  No one would bat an eye.

I can think of several reasons to avoid any place Obama is going to be the next few days, and traffic is just one.

I like how they say they won't publish specific routes, but on this island, it's basically a choice between route A or route B.  Not much else to choose from!

I read a little about it. I understand the need to conserve but there is a need to balance as well.
I was disgusted at the way Brian Schitz backed this proposal without addressing the commercial industry. I guess the fishing union didn't pay as much as the unions involved in rail.

they are saying closures eastbound after 4 and westbound after 6, but i thought they close both sides of the freeway when the motorcade goes through along with closing the overpasses

Yeah, I heard starting about 4.  I've also seen DOT advisories, so I bet people will start leaving earlier, which will result in an earlier rush hour, and then greater risk for getting caught in the closures. . . 

I was referring to road closures from the Ward area (where I live) to Waikiki for the IUCN World Conservation Congress stuff that will be going on from tomorrow.  There will be road closures for the events in general and then Obama may make appearances.  In that case, we were warned that on top of the planned road closures, to anticipate windows of time where all roads may be closed in the area.  I've heard that there are people who work in that area, like HECO, that were told to not report in tomorrow.
