Interesting. You throw RL15?  how much variation know you encounter? What kind of throw.  I have a Harrels that I throw 8208XBR and it's pretty good. Maybe .1 to .2 +/- with that powder.  With ball powders it's spot on for most throws, unless I do something crazy with the wrist action.

I use the Dillon PM on my 550.
I used to use the Lee PPM and it worked the best for stick powders.
I don't bother now....too much work.
I don't recall the variations. Perhaps .2-.5 gr. variance?

We weigh every powder charge by hand as well. The large wildcats that take well above 100 grs of powder are a bit tedious though lol.

When it comes to bolt gun ammo, I weigh every charge to the exact grain. For bulk ammo for autos I have been throwing the charge with ball powder or short grained 8208XBR.  Too many rounds need to be loaded to weigh every one. Lol, If I were still single with no kid and less work I would still be weighing every charge though.  My OCD would kick in!

Aloha Heavies,

That's how l read it to mean particularly 600 yard + competition shooters. Plinking ammo etc sure not a problem to throw even to some extent accurate loads depending on powder n measure used to throw your charges.  But, like you said anytime it comes to utmost precision n accuracy for us the loads are always hand weighed irregardless if its bolt, auto etc. Especially loads for long range work.

Aloha and Happy Shooting!
