I use Prime all the time because the free return process is easy. I tend to order a lot to try out and return if I don't like it. Apparently, the returns go to Vegas where they are bulk sold in auctions. It's better for retailers to let me try something and return it rather than it sit on their shelves so I don't feel bad about it. Months ago, they used UPS but now switched to USPS who has terrible tracking and likes to hide my packages around my house. Additionally, I get to watch Prime videos and music. Grand Tour is awesome.

I ordered the Pacesetter x39 dies but won't arrive until 3/7. Sometimes it arrives much sooner than the expected delivery date. I've had nothing but troubles with vendors but Amazon bends over backwards for me if the product is Prime. Products on Prime are usually 20% more than the "free shipping" products but that's a ruse because the vendor's free shipping doesn't include Hawaii and they want to charge $40 for shipping. Screw it. Maybe I'll buy my 300 Blackout dies from WGS. Sure I'll pay $10 more but I'm supporting a local business.

Just ordered Lee dies from Amazon.  No problems.  Could be how that particular item was set up in their system.  Or it could be coming from lee and not Amazon warehouses.    I order hair wax from amazon warehous.  Some ship, some don't.  The excuses that they give you are just read off of a script.   Not accurate at all.

Checked with Lee precision the other day about this and they told me they have no connection with amazon. If anything the amazon gets Lee dies from a distributor. Amazon said it was probably the way they entered the data off a new shipment and it was probably done incorrectly. The manager I spoke with said he was going to submit a trouble ticket but it would take a week or so before any changes were made... :D :D

Walmart.com now has free 2-day shipping but not to Hawaii. I ordered the 300 AAC Pacesetter set and it's supposed to arrive on Saturday. If so, that's better than Amazon's free 2-day shipping that takes several days for them to even think about shipping the product to me. The real question is how easy is their return policy. Perhaps I can return at the stores.

http://www.ebay.com/bhp/lee-reloading-dies

many ebay sellers have free shipping
any item usually ship in 1-2 days and arrive very quick.  not just dies.
I find myself ordering more and more from ebay and less from amazon.  bc of the free and fast shipping.  very satisfied with ebay.  but really depends on the seller, so gotta make sure they're good.
but I do like amazon's return policy

Yup.  Good for shipping as well as overall rating. I'm always a bit leery of getting counterfeit stuff from eBay.  I've had to return a couple of things (non firearms related though) after finding out the item was counterfeit.  In both cases, the manufacturer helped.  In one case, the seller said they had "just bought a bulk liquidation" from a shop that was going out of business and they had no idea.  They were super quick on the refund, so that's all that matters.  But that there were so quick to refund, I felt that they knew.

I've found that vendors with either own web based site seem to be more reliable.  Greg Cote is one such vendor that I found via eBay and my first order was through his eBay store.  Now I just order from his website.

Today I tried to order a KABAR with prime and at checkout had the "red no can" to my address.   Thought maybe big bro Bezos doesn't want HI residents to have a knife.  Got irritated and cancelled my monthly prime.  Then I tried another seller who also uses Amazon for shipping at the same price.   At checkout my address passed with no issue so I re-signed for monthly prime and completed the order.   Amazon must be so big that it lost control of it's shipping policy.

I ordered the Lee x39 die kit on 1/26 and it arrived 10 days later but they previously said I wouldn't receive it until later in the month so not sure what's going on there. The biggest complaint I have about Prime in the past couple months is that when I return something, they give me a UPS shipping label but they never pick up until I send them an email complaining about it. I think there's a glitch in their system.
