Misdirection #1
« on: January 12, 2018, 09:00:17 AM »
Lets start different threads following numerical order to see what happens with Trumps misdirection.  So the next misdirection, a new thread will be started with the #2 and so on.

Right now the media is more concerned about his "shithole" remark than they are about what the actual talks were about.  So don't be surprised if today or the next few days something big passes.

I had a college friend who went to Haiti with the peace corps/red cross or some similar org.  He said the exact same thing.  They were confined to the "green zones", and only left to the "common folk" (shithole) areas with a truck full of soldiers.  Because the drug/arms lords (not gangs, but lords who have their own 1,000+ men armies) controlled the area.  They left with a truck of soldiers because previously, they would take 1-3 armed escorts, but majority of the time, the armed escorts were on the take and didn't protect them at all.  But with a truck of soldiers, the odds of all 20 being bribed were less.

He said in Haiti, you're either rich or poor (common folk/shithole area).

He then went to India and the only difference between the Indian common folk/shithole areas is that in India, you're much safer and don't need a truck full of armed soldiers.

He said he will never go to Haiti again.  This was around 2008.

Personally, I think the media is the ones guilty of misdirection. Let's face it, the real news story is what the talks were about and they have every opportunity to write about it but prefer to write about what Trump said instead of the real story. So to me this shows they are the ones really performing the misdirection. JMHO

It could be labeled misdirection.  The media is selectively reporting what they want, and editorializing to make us angry about what they do report.

I think it's not so much misdirection, but more like agenda-based reporting.  They refuse to report on most good things, and they beat the supposedly bad things to death.  When there are no bad things, they either make something up, blow something out of proportion, or focus on a totally different issue/event.  If they do report on anything good, they either dismiss Trump's success (i.e. the economy), or they spin it to sound bad.

the unreasonable one persists in trying to adapt the world to himself.
Therefore, all progress depends on the unreasonable man.

I've seen some reports that isn't what was said at all when taken into context, but that doesn't really matter.  I agree that many countries are shit holes and have areas that are shit holes, this island has shitholes.  I've been to "rich" foreign countries that have very very bad shitholes.

Even if that's the case, what does one gain by calling them shithole countries? There's a difference between being "non-PC" and disrespectful. I think this is closer to the latter.

It's a good question though. Why are the only people that interested in moving here from places where conditions are abominable? The United States used to draw from all over the world.

Our new motto is "Welcome to USA. We are better than Hati and a bunch of other shitholes."

Really something to be proud of there.

Why would Russia back the nationalist, rich candidate? Hillary was more prone to manipulate than Trump.

Speaking of which...

The biggest thread to the Democratic establishment now. ACTUAL Russian bribes and extortion, and this time the evidence is not imaginary like in the accusations against Trump, Warren, Assange, etc.

Obama DOJ signed off on this stuff when they should have known better.

Perfect timing for a convenient distraction from a heavy Blue state!
