That school system doesn't allow teachers to carry firearms at work.  The gun was brought in illegally.

Associating this incident with legally armed teachers would be "apples vs. bananas."

If anything, it sounds like there should have been other teacher armed as well so they could help protect the kids against this loon.

Obviously, the gun free zone policy didn't stop anything other than everyone except the bad guy having a gun.

Don't forget, according to CNN, this will be the 19th mass school shooting.

If you were pushing for teachers CCW and they brought this incident up, exactly what would you tell the teachers union to alieve their fears on CCW.

Having a gun free zone didn't prevent this teacher from bringing a gun to school.  Having a gun carry policy would have ensured a few other teachers had the means to protect their students against this teacher, whether he specifically was allowed to legally carry or not.

You can't stop the bad guys from being armed.  You can only prepare to meet force with force if necessary.

If he knew others were armed, you have to wonder if he'd have done what he did to start with.

That he broke federal law which is a felony.  So he shouldn't be teaching anyways since he would now be convicted of a felony.

You assume he won't plea it down to a misdemeanor.  Many have before him.

you never know who will be the next shooter anywhere.  you cannot depend on police to protect you.  a gun in your hand is better than a cop on the phone.

That teacher became a criminal once he stepped foot on school grounds with a gun so the argument of arming teachers is void.
