What is the view of police and or military?

I know there are a lot of police officers and military personell on this board, or who monitor this board,,,

Have always been curious what some of the views are of these guys and gals,,, I mean you are also our neighbors, family, friends, fellow parishoners, have kids in the same class as our kids,,, etc,,etc,,

What is your view of actions if there are threats to the second ammendment, threats to the constitution, laws enacted that remove the freedoms afforded by the constitution,

What is your view on the right to bare arms or congressional or governmental orders to take them from the people?

Would you stand with your neighbors and help organize/ or would you all go around taking these rights knowing all along that you are also throwing away your own rights?

Do you feel that in a time like 9/11 That the many responsible, hard working, established citicens who are also armed and capable should be organized and enlisted to be partners and allys of the government or are we viewed as a threat to stability and should be disarmed. What about in a hurricaine?  If Im standing on my property with my M4 to keep people from looting my home and stores, what do you think would happen?

Just curious, for me I always feel like the PD is part of the comunity, even though it is tough to like some of yall,,, but I suppose if I had to deal with the lowest of the low day in and day out I would become a bit stand offish and a bit of a sceptic as well, after all I see it all the time, well not all the time because I tend to be working too much, but see enough of the people lashing out at cops trying to do their  job that I can imagine it to be a tough rub,,, Really want to know what you think,

Mahalo and Aloha,, :shaka: 8)

I'm sure how many LEO's and service members are on the board here. I'm also uncertain how many would post as an LEO or service member rather than just as any other forum member.

Before I became a sworn Deputy Sheriff, I was & still am a life member of the NRA.  When I am no longer a sworn Deputy Sheriff, I will still be a life member of the NRA. I allowed my HRA membership to lapse, I will be correcting that shortly. I do not drink the anti-2nd Amendment cool aid.  I swore to defend the Constitution of th United States of America. Beware of big government, they have porven time and time again to have no clue.
If you are standing in your castle protecting what is yours in natural disaster, guess what, If you are armed- you get to keep your stuff.
I think alot of cops forget that they swore to uphold and defend the Constitution. I keep a copy in my duty bag, & have an app on my iphone.
Keep the faith brothers and sisters. You are not alone.

What one group of the Greatst Generation did when they ran into bad government.

I had almost forgotten about this.

Don't think it is taught in American History classes.
