There still is competition between uber, lyft, and other ride sharing services so prices should stay down. Their future goal is to have automated cars zipping around 24/7 and eliminate the need for people to own cars. Also eliminates the need for parking lots, garages, public transportation, traffic controls, etc.
Will end up being cheaper and more efficient than catching the bus and rail if we remove subsidies.
I don't believe in the predatory pricing. Its supply and demand. Reason people are against it is we're so used to govenrment handouts, regulations, and penalizing successful and innovative things.
