shipping ammo to Maui

I didn't find anything current about moving already owned ammo and am really short on time so starting a new post.
I just left the army and am going back home to Maui from Georgia but last minute the moving company told me they'll ship all my guns but not any of my ammo. I've tried some companies but they all turned me down cause they basically didn't wanna deal with the hassle. I just wanted to know if anybody knows any company that is willing to ship the stuff. It's over 25,000 rounds of mixed ammunition split up into about 24 steel ammo cans and a few Russian spam can/crates. I'm partially willing to leave it in storage until I decide to move back to the mainland but it'll be about 3+ years which will end up coming to over $5,000 and if I decide to stay then it would be cheaper to just bring it home now rather than later.

Also would it be better to take in to try and register 20+ guns at one time or split it up? Mostly everything is taken apart into just reciever/barrel so most could be taken in one big case.

Dunno about the above board methods for that much ammo.  Might want to look at selling most of it or store it for your return.

I just packed what i had inside tons of the wife's clothes (maybe not tons, but quite a pile with shoes and all) and never said a thing.

Got here fine, being cushioned by all that crap, don't you know.  Hell, they had a thousand pounds of tools to ship, how would that change things?

Aloha Keanu,
Welcome to the forum and welcome back to Hawaii.  :shaka: Palletize the ammo cans and Fed Ex ground to Aloha Freight Forwarders in Compton California for the boat ride to Hawaii.

That's about what I did.

When we left Vegas, we packed the shipping containers full. When it arrived, there was about a foot of space at the top from the settling. Coulda packed more stuff into it.

Honestly, if the OP is gonna register one, you might as well register 20. The trick is to bungy the cases together on a hand truck so you can get it from the parking garage under the Beretania HPD to the side office. You can take multiple trips if you don't mind waiting in the line again. If the firearms are in pieces, perhaps you could only bring the part with the serial number with you in a large storage container? AFAIK, the firearm doesn't have to be complete if you're bringing it in from out of state.

You'll probably need to use a freight forwarder to ship the ammo.

thanks for the replies I should've just come here in the first place. the company the army chose to ship my stuff goes through everything as they pack or repack it themselves so hiding it would've gotten nowhere other than possibly stolen ammo which wasn't supposed to be there. also I have a galil ace in 5.56 pistol version, am I able to bring that to the state if its just the receiver or would they still count it as a scary banned assault pistol?

....
This is what I used to do.
Not sure what the hazmat fee is now days. But it's better than storing or selling the ammo.
