34,000 new felons in New Jersey
« on: December 18, 2018, 08:36:32 AM »
As of December 10th, it looks like the state of New Jersey created roughly 34,000 new felons when they passed the law for 10 round max magazines. I know I'm over generalizing, but really how many LEO will leave their duty magazines at work? Because as far as I know, they cannot purchase their own personal 10-round magazines for a duty weapon. That would present a whole lot of legal problems for any department where a LEO discharges his firearm without his issued magazine.

Now the real questions are...
A) will the LEO community of NJ ignore this law and carry their duty weapon home with issued magazines, thus making themselve defacto felons
B) will the departments arrest and prosecute any LEO who does this or will the departments turn a blind eye, thus being complicit in felony activity
C) will another LEO cross the Thin Blue Line and report any other LEO who possess's an over 10-round magazine
C) will the LEO community of NJ adhere to the law and be disarmed just as the rest of the populace of NJ is

We also know that the LEO Union will fight this law based upon the "Laws for Thee, Not for Me" mentality, but will the NRA, GOA or other "Gun Rights" organization defend the new law based on it applies to all citizens or will they fight it to have it overturned based on class of citizen preference?

Who wants to file a FIOA letter with every department for the number of officers they have employed, number of duty weapons issued, number of duty magazines issued and as of Dec. 10, 2018, how many magazines are turned in at the end of each shift to ensure compliance with the law?

Former Police Commissioner of the New York City Police Department Bernard B. Kerik - "NJ Governor @GovMurphy is endangering the life of every off duty NJ cop! Gang bangers, drug thugs and really bad guys don't give a damn about magazine capacity... So he takes the good guy's ammunition, and the bad guys are loaded for bear! @FoxNews @CNN @newsmax @DLoesch @ABC"

It would be nice if Hawaii's legislative body would read that sentence...  :grrr:
