Mainstream media and congressional Democrats alike were in lockstep just months ago that the situation along the southern border was a “manufactured crisis” being ginned up by the president for political reasons -- but the narrative has swiftly shifted as those same voices now acknowledge the crisis while citing the conditions to attack the Trump administration.

Trump highlighted the change in tone in brief remarks to reporters Wednesday afternoon.

“It wasn’t manufactured at all,” he said.

It's a striking contrast between then and now.

After Trump in January declared a “humanitarian and security crisis" during a primetime Oval Office address, Sen. Chuck Schumer, speaking beside House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, said Trump was working to “manufacture a crisis, stoke fear and divert attention from the turmoil in his administration." Party leader Tom Perez also called it “manufactured.”

Democrats, many of whom downplayed the Central American caravans back in 2018, renewed their skepticism again after Trump declared a national emergency in February in pursuit of a border wall. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., described it as a "'crisis' that doesn't exist." Sen. Elizabeth Warren tweeted at the time that "we're not falling" for the "fake crisis."

CNN’s Jim Acosta famously stood along the Mexican border only six month ago, patting the steel slats and declaring that he didn’t see anything resembling “imminent danger” or migrants trying to enter the United States.

“No sign of the national emergency that the president has been talking about… pretty tranquil down here,” Acosta said.

I was listening to NPR and they were talking about what the "standard" of living should be for migrant children.  While I consider myself compassionate, I am also a realist.  The "standards" that are being "demanded" struck me quite a comfortable living.  As in I envision many children who are U.S. citizens who would love to enjoy those kinds of comforts.

How about a "standard" of obeying our laws and immigrating LEGALLY to the United States!

Some DNC reps using pics from the Obama years, the ones where the kids where in an emergency blanket.  The dates were left off, but people found the original pics with dates on them.

What liberals don't understand is that it's a numbers issue.  BP has resources for X amount of people in their detention centers.  If numbers exceeded that then resources will be stretched thin and other accommodations will have to be made.  Imagine 10K people going to 1 prison in a single month.

Elizabeth Warren is now openly campaigning on decriminalizing illegal border crossings into the US.  In other words, she wants a completely open border.

It would still be illegal to be in the US without proper permission (catch me if you can), but to come into the country outside a controlled access point would no longer be a crime.

It would be analogous to decriminalizing breaking and entering but keeping trespassing and burglary on the books.  This proposal would put border jumpers and people who overstay their visas in the same category.  Of course, we know who came in with a visa.  We have no idea who came into the country outside legal entry points.

Must be Shark Week for the Democrat Presidential candidates -- lots of them jumping the shark leading up to the first debate.

Judicial Watch just won a lawsuit against California forcing them to cleanse their voter roles of 1.5 million names.  20% of registered voters were deemed inactive, yet their names were never removed from the rolls in violation of the National Voter Registration Act.

Hopefully this becomes a trend in all states.  Harder to vote fraudulently if only active voters are registered.

I've been in Hawaii almost 20 years.
I've figured out my voting doesn't mean a darn thing here.
