Still happy we sold out boat (had not planned to) and got it to Kawaihai and shipped it to Maui just before the lockdown BS started.    No more civilian shipping s few days later.

It means you can drive on the expired safety check through Aug 31.  Cops aren't supposed to cite you for it.  If you want to renew your car's registration online or at an automated kiosk, you normally can't if the most recent inspection is expired -- you'd have to go to the DMV or mail the DMV a current inspection form with the renewal and wait a week for the registration.  They are waiving that requirement right now for qualifying expired inspections.

How do you qualify for the grace period?  Safety inspection certificates/stickers that expire in May 2020 or prior, will be valid through August 31, 2020.  So, if it expires in June, you have the entire month to get a new inspection.
