gun "coatings"

Any of you got any of your guns coated  in  np3, np3+, poly-t2, Nickel Boron etc???  I was thinking of getting my favorite 1911 coated in one of those and was curious to know if anyone locally got anything coated before and can share their experience with it.

Mainly what i'm personally looking to achieve by getting it coated is to get a finish that's extremely resistant to abrasion and "wear" from drawing from holster etc.  :shaka:

I have a RIA 1911 that I had coated with NP3.  LOVE it!

The only caveat is that if you've got oil on the gun, or your hands are sweaty, NP3 is slick.  You learn to be aggressive on your grip when doing malfunction clearance drills or locking the slide back.

My next gun coating is going to be in NP3+ with Robar.

I toyed with the idea of doing my SKS as well.  Seems silly to spend more on the coating than I did on the rifle, but how sick would that be!

What gun are you coating and why did you decide to go with np3+?

Only aftermarket finish I have on a handgun is US Anodizing's Xtremcoat; which chipped after I fired a couple hundred rounds wearing my wedding band.  The internals that were coated still look good, no metal showing at any contact surfaces yet.

My Glock 20SF. I like the color of NP3+, and it's embedded with Teflon so as the finish wears, more lube is exposed.
