I was given this gift of knowledge about the Liberty of Conscience by my nephew. I have never heard of this before. I thought it important enough to start a new thread. The Liberty of Conscience is extremely important as we seek to decide whether we should go along with or fight vaccine mandates. This is as much a teaching of religion as it is a history lesson about the Smallpox pandemic in Boston in 1721. I was very moved by the struggle that everyone went through back then to decide to inoculate themselves and their family or not to. And what it really boils down to is the Liberty of Conscience. Our country was based on this and it must remain a part of our culture no matter what. Here is the article I found regarding this:

I don’t want this thread to devolve into a discussion of religion. Actually I would prefer that we don’t discuss vaccine mandates in this thread as we are already discussing them elsewhere. I would just like to see us discuss the Liberty of Conscience and how it will effect us as a country if we let it die. Thanks!

Lol religion.  Atleast they don't go full anti science anymore. There is no true mandatory vaccines.

First of all thank you for reading my entire post and keeping the subject matter within the spirit of the subject for which I posted this in the first place. I ask that we keep this discussion about the Liberty of Conscience and how it applies to our country. So thank you again.

You are right about our founding fathers setting a great baseline for this great country. I was not aware of this doctrine, though. Until today. I also didn’t know how important a role it played in the founding of our country and then again in the smallpox pandemic in 1721. That story and the trials and tribulations people were going through are remarkably mirrored by todays vaccine mandates. Everyone needs to have the freedom to make the decision for themselves and not be fired for not submitting to the mandates. It is important to support everyone’s right to choose without being forced to either comply or lose ones job. Like what is happening in NYC and across the country in other blue states/cities starting today.
