I agree that leaders take the credit and also take the blame.

But at my former workplace the "leaders" take the credit but when it comes to blame they blame us, the workers.

There were no leaders at my former workplace.  Just parasites that couldn't make it out in the field but latched on to the boss once the boss couldn't figure out what to do with these leeches.

So the boss made them "leaders".  The boss wasn't a very good leader also.  Should have fired their ass.

Ok.  Sorry, off topic again.  I have issues.  Glad I retired.  But the nightmares remain.

It's simple:  you manage "things" and lead people.

Too many managers of people in industry, government and military.  In the latter two especially,  people who were great workers get promoted and put in charge of sometimes very large groups with little to no leadership skills.

You can take classes on supervising and managing the people under you, but leading requires certain character traits that not all of us possess.  Yeah, you can develop those traits over time, but it takes time and effort above what the day-to-day manager job requires.

In any large organization, the leader is responsible for everything the people they have working for them do.
If the organization does something bad, the leader gets the blame.
If the organization does something good, the leader gets the credit.

I understand these things, I just don't agree. Give credit where it is due and do so proportionately.

Thats why I say Trump gets credit for approving the program but the bulk of the credit should be the leaders who thought of the program and executed it.

He didn't invent it exactly. He came up with the idea but other scientists actually made it work from what I have read.

Maybe he's pissed cause as an employee, he makes 0 off of it now.  Like the lady who invented Kevlar while she worked for Dupant. She made no additional revenue from the patent.  She's not sore.
