Through the investigation, it was determined that Vining and Broad were taking turns shooting at each other while wearing a vest which contained a form of body armor.

I saw an interesting discussion on evolution.  It's not that the strongest or smartest species survive.  It's that the ones who reproduce the most do.

Makes sense -- plenty of "spares" for when the others meet an early demise!  Similar to the thinking a hundred+ years ago -- large families ensured enough offspring survived to help work the land and make more babies.

I'm not sure if they are even thinking of ensuring the survival of species.  They just like to screw.  More like instinctive.

They "sow their oats" in full auto mode.  No semi auto or bolt action for them.  They are not snipers.

They don't even spray and pray.  They just spray.  All over the damn place.

And I guess that's why stuff like the OP posted happens.  Too much time on people's hands.......if the opportunity presented itself, they would have screwed each other instead of shoot each other but maybe they were straight and not LGBQT-wxyz.  Or some variant.
