Behind a paywall, but this sums up my expectation once the Honolulu liberals get involved to kill it like last time"

"This is a repetition of what has already transpired," said former On Target president Richard Hoeflinger, who led a previous working group in 2004. "It's a good thing somebody is continuing this effort, but I have a jaundiced view after spending 12 years on it and reaching the status of dead end."

The initial working group, consisting of DLNR representatives, Hawaii police and other groups, proposed a facility for Pu'uanahulu.

That’s why I just shoot in my backyard. Simple, convenient and can shoot what I like and how I like.

Of course this was when I used to own guns.  Like Maksak, I decided guns are bad and got rid of them all.

Y'all have a nice 500+ yard range to stretch things out?

Never had a reason to shoot that far.  Longest shot I ever had to try (and made) was 300 yards on a deer on Molokai.  Where I live the longest shot you could make is under a 100 yards before being blocked by trees.

With gun sales through the roof you would figure that the support for more ranges has grown as well.

Speaking from experience, some of those new folks are dangerous and could use a good chewing out from an experienced RM
I’m becoming clinically undepressed and thinking about beginning it all.

1 time recently I saw several newbies uncasing their firearms before 0800 when people still setting up targets.  I had to inform them of the rules to wait until range goes hot to uncase their firearms
common sense you would think, but some people are just plain DUMB!!!!!  :grrr:

when I see newbies, I have to eyeball them for a while until I get a feel for them and how dumb they really are
most are safe, but some are not
