What these dipshits don't realize is that a tax on bullets will add fuel to the fire by targeting exclusively the law-abiding.  How many rounds does the average 2aHawaii shooter go through a month?  A bunch, because it takes lots of practice to get proficient enough with a firearm to feel like you're prepared to defend yourself and your family if needed.  On the other hand, Billy the Gangbanger can commit nearly unlimited muggings, rapes, and up to fifty murders per box of shells, because it doesn't really matter how good he is at shooting when his prey is usually unarmed.  Not to mention that for Billy Gangbanger, that bullet tax is just part of the cost of doing business.  Like all businessmen, he recoups his taxes from his customers victims. Now, take old Cougar, for example.  I can't remember the last time I went to the range to practice and had someone pay me for it.

I hate stupid people so much it's almost funny.  Except it's not.

Probably one of the most moronic statements was this-

Father Michael Pfleger, pastor of Chicago's St. Sabina Church, says the tax will make a difference, just as cigarette taxes affected cigarette consumption. He called gun violence "the undeclared disaster," and noted that in his crime-troubled South Side neighborhood a gun can be bought for as little as $20.

It really shows how the anti gun community thinks or fails to think; how in the hell is a tax going to affect the purchase of an illegal firearm on the street corner for $20..

Then the correlation of a tax to somehow offset the cost of gunshot wound ER care....ok how about drug overdoses ?? I'm quite sure OD's in Chicago are a much bigger issue.

The bottom line is taxs and stricter gun purchase laws don't any good, much stiffer punishments of  gun and drug offenses are the answer.
