OHA meet the candidates

Was watching on channel 52. THey were asked WHy are they running. Disastrous. No one could give examples on what they would do.  You'd think that if you were on TV asking for votes you would dress more appropriately. No T shirts. No pidgin. Oh well, that went out the door. "ovah dea" "da issues" :wtf:

I never have and NEVER will vote for OHA. I was told a while back that because I am not Hawaiian, I have no place speaking on Hawaiian issues. Now, I really could care less about the problems faced by Hawaiians.

Wow, who told you that?

I've actually been told that a couple of times by Hawaiians. Once we were discussing the Kaoinoa project. After he Told me I had no right talking about Hawaiian issues, I told him to get his Hawaiian commercials off my Japanese TV.

me: you know blood quantum was designed to divide hawaiians and isolate them from a much broader support base that would allow them to have some real political power

Hawaiian girl: you're talking like a haole

me: sigh...

I heard a long time ago that the Native American community would like to help out the Hawaiians, but the Hawaiians said it  was it was a Hawaiian issue. You would think both groups suffered the same situation of having their land being taken away by outsiders. Anyways as for the Hawaiian Sovereignty movement in general , their are so many groups out there claiming it is their rite or they claim they are the  true heir of so and so. Not so unified and disenfranchised eh.
