start with not abolishing bail. If someone is arrested in the commission of a crime, how about we not write down their name and let them go?
Support your police force, and give them the tools and authority to carry out their job of protecting the public. Hold Them accountable for what they do outside of their training, but make sure the investigation is fair and neutral. Don't hang them out to dry if the felon , who may have swallowed his drugs , and had enough fentalyl to kill a horse. Make sure you're not finding him guilty because of the rioters.
Stop demonizing the tool used in the commission of a crime, rather hold the criminal accountable. Like if a firearm is used, or brandished, in the commission of a crime, your sentence is extended by a mandatory 10 years no parole punishment. So you pull a gun on a liquor store owner to steal a pack of cigarettes, it is no longer a misdemeanor punishable by 1 year in jail, but rather your sentence shall be the 1 year plus 10 years.
if you are found with a firearm with a defaced serial number, mandatory 5 years in prison.
