After receiving my long gun PTA I am wondering how the transfer process works? Can someone confirm this for me? I am wanting to transfer a long gun from within my family.
1. BUYER shows SELLER Long Gun Permit, and gives money for long gun.
2. SELLER verifies Long Gun Permit, if valid, accept money from buyer for long gun.
3. (I am lost on this part on)
4. Physically bring long gun to HPD for physical inspection and the inspection of the firearm ASAP.

Do I have to bring the old registration of that firearm to HPD when registering? Do I have to bring a receipt containing who I bought it from, and the firearm info (caliber, length of barrel, etc)? Or something completely different?
Thank you.
if you have the owner's registration, or at least the registration control number printed on the form, HPD knows who you got it from.
That registration form should have the owner's info and gun specs, which are all you need for the new registration besides your permit, your ID and the firearm.
It won't hurt to have the gun specs: make, model, caliber, serial number, action type, barrel length.
1) I give my buyers a copy of my registration and a bill of sale which we both sign.
2) I check their ID and long gun permit.
3) They hand me cash. I hand them the firearm.
4) They have 5 days to register.
5) I have 2 days to send a notice of sale to HPD.
It's not complicated.
