And a Happy Thankgiving to you also.

Let's all remember what today means.

And it does not mean a 3 day weekend to go to Vegas.

Or Football games.

Or even the great food that most of us take for granted.

Have a Great One, guys. ;D

I'm going to spend the evening with my kids, but earlier today I spent  time counseling a troubled runaway girl and some homeless Hawaiians.

It makes me more appreciative of what I got.

Wife said this year’s turkey was the best ever…  :D. Rubbed with a mix of mayonnaise, sage, Hawaiian sea salt + spices… draped in bacon.  Juicy and delicious.

Kids are happy, healthy, and successful.

Enjoying an after dinner Old Fashioned.

Much to be thankful for!

Hey !
That timer did not pop out !

On a side note, those I've spoken to were missing the gizzard from the "gravy" bag and found the neck to be extra long.
Also, for the first time ever, the 15lb turkey was done in 2.5 hrs, also stated by others.
Usually takes longer.

Climate Change.

400°F is the new 450°F.

Turkeys now come pre-cooked just from being outdoors!

I have become a fan of the overnight turkey. Set the oven to 200 (maybe its 225?) and cook for 12 hours. I draped some bacon over the top as well which turned out really good. The skin never browns though but I don't like skin. It comes out moist and there is a low risk of burning it. Just set it at 1am , pull it out at 1pm then ready to go for an early dinner.

I've been using a slow bake method for turkey for about 45 years. It never fails to disappoint.
