Out-of-State Transfer from one family member to another
« on: December 25, 2012, 11:25:50 AM »
A family member is gifting me one of his completed AR-15's as a Christmas present. Once it has been shipped to me via the FFL transfer procedures, is the registration period with HPD the three day window or the five day? Also, when does the registration time frame start, when it arrives in-state, or when I pick it up from the FFL agent?

Merry Christmas and Mahalo for all the answers in advance.

i dont know, but i would

A) just get it registered ASAP
B), not worry too much, you're gonna be in a 200 person line either way, and they will liekly not mind if you go over because they cant process everyone in the line before they close.

When you get it from the local FFL you have 5 days to register it. Not 5 working days.
