Today, President Biden named nineteen recipients of the Presidential
Medal of Freedom.

The Presidential Medal of Freedom is the Nation’s highest civilian honor,

significant societal, public or private endeavors.

Notable Democrats:

Secretary Clinton made history many times over decades in public service,
including as the first First Lady elected to the United States Senate. After
serving as Secretary of State, she became the first woman nominated for
president by a major United States political party.

George Soros

George Soros is an investor, philanthropist, and founder of the Open Society
Foundations. Through his network of foundations, partners and projects in
more than 120 countries, Soros has focused on global initiatives that strengthen
democracy, human rights, education, and social justice.

1 of 4 are better odds (Denzel got 1). But IDK what he did to deserve 1. I would think Gary Senise (Lt. Dan) would be more deserving.

Brandon and his rhetoric once again devalue things.

i think Gary Sinise should get this award as well, but it would mean more if it came from someone other than Biden.

Here's a list of some of the honors he's received.
The Presidential Citizens Medal in 2008 is the
second-highest civilian award in the US and is
second only to the Medal of Freedom.  This list
contains just the highlights:
Quote
Over the years, Sinise has received numerous honors for his humanitarian
work and his work on behalf of military veterans and families.[8]

2007 - the Bob Hope Award for Excellence in Entertainment
2008 - the Presidential Citizens Medal by President George W. Bush.
2008 - Ellis Island Medal of Honor from the National Ethnic Coalition
2008 - Honorary Doctorate of Fine Arts from Cal State Stanislaus
2009 - Spirit of the USO Award from the USO
2012 - Boy Scouts of America Leader of the Year
2012 - United States Navy, Honorary Chief Petty Officer[9]
2012 - Spirit of Hope Award from Department of Defense
2013 - Civic Statesmanship Award
2013 - Honorary Marine[10]
2015 - United States Military Academy, Thayer Award
2016 - FDNY, Honorary Battalion Chief[11]
2017 - James Cardinal Gibbons Medal from The Catholic University of America
2018 - The Kennedy Center Award for the Human Spirit (Citizen Artist)
2018 - American Spirit Award from The National WWII Museum
2018 - Grand Marshal, Rose Bowl Game, Honorary
2019 - The Eisenhower Award from Business Executives for National Security
2019 - Marine Corps League Honorary Membership
2020 - United States Naval Academy, Honorary Graduate
2020 - The Congressional Medal of Honor Society Patriot Award

Side note:  Government-sponsored awards are usually limited to the achievements and actions between the last award and the present.  That means, for example, anything Sinise did up until 2008 for the Presidential Citizens Medal should not be included in the justification for a subsequent award.  Maybe he's not done many new and distinct things since 2008 to warrant the highest honor yet?  A lot of his charitable work is done through his foundation, which probably provides the same type of benefits each year even though the beneficiaries may change.

I would also assume that Denzel has more money than Gary.  So Denzel would have more to donate compared to him.

Are you saying Denzel does donate more to charity than Sinise?

If you have $1,000, and I have $2,000, would you be more generous giving a $200 donation than I would be giving the same amount?

Do you calculate the amount one must give to charity similar to tithing?  If both Denzel and Gary gave 10% of their income to charity, would that make them equally generous if Denzel's net worth is $140M and Gary's is $50M?

What about the charities they choose.  If Gary supports mostly wounded vet charities, but Denzel supports a wide variety of charities for the youth, does one seem like a more worthy cause than the other?

Is it more charitable to simply give away one's wealth, or is it a better choice to invest part of if to provide jobs and benefits for many years to come?

The money someone earns and accumulates is theirs.  They are free to spend it as they wish. If one person gives more money than another, but the other gives more of his time, is it really a good metric to simply compare checks written to worthy causes?
