He claims it was an "accidental discharge".

I thought he was a felon and thus unable to possess firearms?

Dog was married to Beth who died of throat cancer in 2019.  He remarried in 2021.

The police report states the suspect in the shooting is the father of the child who died.

The deceased is the grandson of Chapman's current wife, Francie Chapman, making her the mother of the suspect & Dog his stepfather.
