My first guess is it's your ISP or company firewall rejecting the messages.  Many firewalls filter out any and all gun-related addresses for web access, emails, or both.

Try going into Profile ==> Summary using the top menu bar.  Then click the email icon right under your avatar (user image).

If you do that, you should see the same email address for both the sender and recipient.  Verify they are the same.  Send yourself a test message from that screen.

Then, copy and paste that email address into your email client as a new message and send.  Give it a minute to be received.

If all that is good, then you'll need an administrator on here to help.  I'm using a gmail account for my 2A account to send to.  If you are using a different mail service, maybe try setting up a free gmail account if you don't already have one and try it.  That might narrow down the problem to your mail server, not your 2A account.

Thanks for the detailed write up. I don’t see an email icon under my profile avatar.

Try going to Profile ==> Account Settings on the top menu bar.
Make sure your valid email address is entered in the Email field, then select the checkbox next to Allow users to email me, like so:

I have done everything and still no luck. I use gmail for this 2a account. I tried to send a test message and I did not receive anything.

I tested my own email, and it, too, is busted.  So, i contacted macsak (Sysadmin) for help.

Mac verified he is seeing the same problem.

i guess you picked the wrong week to use email!   :geekdanc:

Seriously, no telling how long the problem would have persisted had you not reported it.

The admins in HI have no actual admin permissions, so all they do is contact someone else for help.  They can do low level admin functions like changing user login permissions, locking and unlocking accounts, deleting unwanted posts, and editing anyone's comments.  More technical changes and fixes seem to be kept close hold by the site owner.  We've gone round and round a couple of times when the site was down or unreachable for about a week or longer.  I've been waiting over a year for someone to figure out why my account doesn't have any editing permissions using the TAPATALK app.   ???

There's another symptom of your problem other than manually sending emails.  The forum lets you enable certain notifications, like when you get a Private Message.  I have that enabled, and none of the PMs Mac sent me resulted a notification to my email account.  Mac has that turned on as well, and he noticed the same thing when I PM'ed him.

He said he was going to "Text Brent."

I'll let you know if I see any progress.
