I noticed that there are some stores that dont have a forum in the vendor section like SEC, gun source, etc. I was wondering if 2ahawaii was planning on adding them in?

i think that's up to the stores, since OGC and xring guys actively manage those subforums.

Yeah, someone at the gun store must sign in as a vendor and actively manage their section of the forum.

Random sidenote:  Now I can't imagine that it would be that hard to manage a sub forum for a gun store.  Last weekend I was at SEC at there were probably 3 salespeople actually at the counter with their computer checking the "gunshow wishes" thread on 2a. They already know that this website exists, why not make the most of it?  Just like how social media can increase business at any other store, why not use every tool at hand to maintain interest?  Now I understand that guns and ammo basically sell themselves, but look at how successful OGC is just by sending a few tweets every day or so.

I actually asked YGs previously why they didn't do twitter...  The guy I spoke to said its up to the owner to decide if they want to do so or not.  So maybe the owners need to decide if they want to do so or not.  :shrugs:

Yes I have their tweets too, I'm just impressed with the consistency and completeness that OGC uses their twitter. For example 10 cases of 9mm at $350 each yesterday were sold in less than an hour of tweeting.  Pretty good return on a simple investment of a 160 character tweet in my opinion.

That's a good point too, I can see lots of liability there without the proper maintenance.

True!  Social media can be very sucessful if done correectly!  I think the reason why OGC is so sucessful is because their prices are reasonable vs other stores.  I'm new to shooting but I see a MAJOR price difference in Ammo especially.  Some guns (pistols for example) run anywhere from $25 to $100 for the same pistol!  I've seeing ranting going on about certain business also on social media that makes me (as a new customer) avoid those places!

It may ask you to do stuff one time, such as set up your twitter account but I don't remember.  I dont think you need to set up anything on the web.  you can start using it just from your phone.  There's some instructions on that here, since its been a while since I did this:

Oh yes, you can also do "follow 2ahawaii" but I didn't do this as I didn't want my phone bombarded with posts. I just read 2a hawaii on Tapatalk anyway and reserve SMS messages for special deal notifications only.

Like others have stated, it is up to the individual store if they want to be a part of the vendors section.
