So to step away from the Tryvon stuff.... this article says you can carry a concealed weapon on to school grounds if you have a permit here in Hawaii. Obviously they forgot to mention Hawaii has not issued a permit in years. So I as wondering if this was true. If you have a Hawaii permit for a ccw, can you take it onto school grounds? Such as if you were a teacher?

Probably because Hawaii in essence doesn't issue concealed carry permits, there has never been a reason to promulgate laws about where you can carry with said mythical permit. There is simply no statutory language prohibiting the carry of a gun on school grounds with a valid Hawaii permit, and therefore it would be legal. On the same basis, it would be legal to carry in a church, a State government building, a bar, or basically anywhere else that wasn't prohibited by a Federal law....it is the same reason you don't need to get a permit in Vermont. It isn't that they have a law that says it's OK to carry open or concealed without a permit. They just don't have a law that says you can't.
