i was browsing cl and came across an interesting ad. the fn website says its for military and leo only. looks pretty cool and could possibly avoid my kids from having to see a dead man in the living room if a situation ever occured.

I'm not sure, but I don't think Hawaii has any specific regulations on air rifles.  And since this seems to be a glorified paintball gun, I can't imagine it would be illegal to own.

That being said, I still wouldn't get it, if your plan was to use it for home defense.  Since it is... a glorified paintball gun.

Also, I would think that while the gun itself may be legal, most LTL rounds are in fact illegal.

not actually considering paying 600 for this thing, just a curiosity. with stun guns being illegal i was wondering about the legality of this thing and other "less than lethal" devices.

Its probably stolen.  Per the FN site, the FN303 is for LEO and Military sale only.

Donno if its a joke, or if he bought it at wally world for real...

They later modified it to have a velocity adjuster and used it to shoot firststrike paintballs

Brother Kanakamaoli, I would actually buy it, but I would be up to no good. i'd be using them on stray animals and drunk peeps!
if you do buy it just hide it. if anyone ask questions of an unconscious man in your living room, just say he ran into a wall or something! but it is illegal...

I highly doubt that guy just walked into a walmart and bought a FN303 less lethal in the paintball section.

Are "solvent trap adapters" legal to own and can they be legally mounted to your barrel? Sold on ebay, amazon, etc.

what does it shoot?

I made my own spud gun back in high school out of pvc pipe, used hair spray for a propellant.
it could shoot 100 yds
at close range i bet you could break a sternum or ribs, easy.

The website say .68 caliber projectiles, so paintballs.  FNs specialty ammo is supposedly some high tech fin stabilized ammo, but there are plenty of vids online of guys shooting regular paintballs out of it.

Again... glorified paintball gun.

What types of less lethal are we talking about here as being illegal?

i remember using these back in the marines. the "marker" rounds were leaving huge dents in the pallets we were shooting at and a decent range on them. i wouldn't ever wanna be shot with one of these.
