I read one of his co-authored recent books (THREAT VECTOR).

And of course some of the older ones.

Wondering who will pick up the baton.

I had been trying to find someone similar to Crichton after he went, and not really sure if there are any.

Lee Child is also pretty fun to read.

the Jack Reacher series begins with the book called KILLING FLOOR which is pretty darn good

but i started it with the book called PERSUADER (#7 in the series)

and I still think that was a great start for me because I knew nothing about the character Jack Reacher, and PERSUADER was great reading (especially for someone knowledgeable about firearms),

By book #7, the character and Lee Child's writing is well developed, so it is a great story.

So you can consider that. And then read from #1.

#1 is a great book too, but remember that was his first book.

Definitely don't read any of the book back covers, because I find that they spoil the story too much.

JMHO.

Man, what a legend. I remember growing up listening to my old man read some of these books to me. It's honestly what gave me some of my first thoughts of joining the military. Rest in peace, brother!
