TIMNEY TRIGGER FOR SAVAGE AXIS

Any Axis owners replaced the stock trigger with a Timney Trigger?  Is it a Do-it-Yourself or should a gunsmith do it?  Mahalo!

Ive thought about replacing my trigger.  I had dexter take a look at it and he replaced one of the springs.  There was lots of work that needed to be done, like putting shims and centering it because it was lose, but we couldn't find the parts we needed in the amount of time available.  Its lighter, usually, unless it moves around.  If you order the kit, let me know how it goes.

Great... I'll check with Dex & Brian on my next visit.  I seen people on youtube cut the springs... sure don't want to do that.  Just want a lighter trigger pull.  Thanks Again!

To make the stock trigger smooth is a bit of work.  You also have to work in the the firing pin spring.  But took us about 15 min.  Drop in trigger is better if you can afford it. But in the axis it's still a hair heavy due the the firing pin spring.  I do keep the trigger spring on hand.
